Steffi Weismann & Emmett Williams

Within a Fluxus concert with the Maulwerker group at the Museum Hamburger Bahnhof Berlin in 1999, Steffi Weismann and Emmett Williams performed the first time together: On the program was his piece "Son of Man Trio - or - Try and Stop Me" from 1962. (See fotos on the right)

Emmett William's piece "Song of Uncertain Length" is one of Steffi Weismanns favorite Fluxus pieces, that she has performed at several Fluxus concerts. She also integrated it as a quotation in her video performance SERVICE. Together with Christian Kesten she played the piece in memoriam of Emmett Williams at the funeral ceremonies in February 2007 in Berlin.
Some weeks before he died Emmett wrote a text for Steffis catalogue Vis-a-Vis (artist monography) that was published in 2009.
